Up to $5 billion needed to build China - Kyrgyzstan railway
There are two major projects in Kyrgyzstan that need to be completed. Akylbek Japarov, head of the Cabinet of Ministers, announced at a meeting of the parliamentary committee on budget, economic and fiscal policy.
According to him, the first project is the construction of Kambarata hydroelectric power station.
The Cabinet of Ministers hopes that construction and preparatory work will be completed next year.
The second major project is the construction of China — Kyrgyzstan — Uzbekistan railway.
«In April, the Design Institute of PRC should submit documents to us. Construction will cost from $3 to $5 billion. It is not yet known how much Kambarata HPP project will cost, this will become known after the update. But its cost is about the same as that of the railway,» said Akylbek Japarov.
