Teleconference in support of media in Kyrgyzstan to be held on Human Rights Day
A teleconference will be held on the International Human Rights Day, December 10, between journalists from different countries representing different media. Media Action Platform in Kyrgyzstan reported.
According to it, during the teleconference, colleagues will discuss the problem of common threats and restrictions for the media, freedom of speech and common actions.
«The overall final action of this event should be an appeal by journalists to the President of Kyrgyzstan with a call to stop pressure on the media and journalists, to cancel legislative initiatives that restrict freedom of speech and the activities of the media,» the statement says.
The organizers also propose to launch a petition on Change.org and Avaaz platforms to collect signatures in support of journalists and media in the Kyrgyz Republic.
The events will be aimed at supporting and ending pressure on journalists and the media, so that as many people as possible in the world know about the situation with freedom of speech in Kyrgyzstan.
