Agreement on Kempir-Abad: Committee to appeal to international court
Members of the Committee for protection of Kempir-Abad reservoir will appeal to an international court to annul ratification of the agreement with Uzbekistan. Politician Ravshan Dzheenbekov said.
«Unfortunately, the authorities gave away Kempir-Abad. But we still have one way. In the future, we will turn to the international court. If our government is corrupt and authoritarian, then we have the opportunity to annul the international agreement. Yesterday in Parliament I noticed that the document was ratified using corrupt and authoritarian methods. This is pressure on deputies,» he said.
It should be noted that the Parliament ratified the agreement with the Republic of Uzbekistan on certain sections of the Kyrgyz-Uzbek state border. President Sadyr Japarov attended the meeting. 83 deputies were registered.
In the first reading, 64 of them voted for, 18 — against. In the second, 61 voted for, 22 — against. In the third reading, 64 voted for, 19 — against.
