Mayor of Bishkek discusses delivery of buses with Ambassador of China
The Mayor of Bishkek, Emilbek Abdykadyrov, met with the Ambassador of the People’s Republic of China to Kyrgyzstan Du Dewen. Press service of the Bishkek City Hall reported.
During the meeting, the parties discussed delivery of 120 buses from China to Bishkek.
«In connection with the restrictive measures introduced in the framework of combating the spread of COVID-19 in China, the mayor of the capital voiced a request for assistance in speeding up the passage of borders,» the City Hall said.
At least 1 billion soms were allocated this year from the city budget for the purchase of buses. The City Hall purchased them from Zhongtong Bus Hoiding Co., Ltd. They are expected to arrive in the country before the end of the year. They are already ready for shipment.
About 124 buses purchased under the EBRD project should be also delivered at the beginning of next year. A total of 250 units will be purchased as part of the project. In addition, 120 electric buses will be purchased under the ADB project.
