Rally against transfer of Kempir-Abad to Uzbekistan held in Uzgen
A rally against transfer of Kempir-Abad reservoir to Uzbekistan is taking place near the district administration in Uzgen. Its participants posted a video from the scene on social media.
About 200 people gathered to protest.
«We came with a demand not to transfer Kempir-Abad. They previously addressed the president, the head of the State Committee for National Security, and deputies on this issue. The results will be announced today. We hope for a positive outcome,» said one of the rally participants.
It should be noted that the head of state Sadyr Japarov takes part in a meeting of deputies of the Parliament. The Parliament is considering an agreement on separate sections of the Kyrgyz-Uzbek border and joint management of Kempir-Abad reservoir. Previously, the relevant committee adopted the document in three readings at once.
