Number of bank cards issued in Kyrgyzstan increases by 33.1 percent
The number of bank payment cards issued in Kyrgyzstan increased by more than 33 percent over the year. Report of the National Bank says.
According to the central bank, the total number of bank payment cards in circulation as of October 1, 2022 amounted to 4,660 million cards. Compared to the same period last year, it increased by 33.1 percent.
The National Bank of the Kyrgyz Republic specifies that 21 commercial banks provide services on the issuance and acquiring of bank payment cards of Elcard national payment system, and 14 banks provide services of international payment systems.
Elcard cards are the most popular in the country (59.5 percent) and Visa cards — in the sector of international systems (36.6 percent).
