18.8 million soms of loans of residents of Batken region written off
The National Bank of Kyrgyzstan told about the measures of financial and credit organizations (FCOs) to provide support to borrowers who suffered during the armed conflict in Batken and Osh regions.
A total of 372 borrowers applied to the FCOs. Of these, 268 loans were written off for 18,883 million soms. At least 64 loans for 20,885 million soms were restructured.
«FCOs are considering all incoming applications from affected borrowers and will take appropriate measures in accordance with banking legislation,» the National Bank stressed.
Shooting began at several sites of the border between Kyrgyzstan and Tajikistan on the morning of September 16. Settlements in Leilek and Batken district came under fire. The Ministry of Health reported 206 victims, 63 people were killed. As a result of the armed conflict on the Kyrgyz-Tajik border, residents of seven villages in Batken and Leilek districts, as well as Dzhekendi village in Chon-Alai district of Osh region, left their homes.
The Prosecutor General’s Office of Kyrgyzstan opened a criminal case on crimes against peace.
