Head of department of Kara-Balta City Hall detained for extortion
An employee of the City Hall of Kara-Balta was detained for extortion. Press service of the Ministry of Internal Affairs reported.
It was found out that for several months the employee extorted $2,000 for resolving a land issue and assistance in a positive resolution of the issue of a commercial facility.
The Investigation Service of the Ministry of Internal Affairs opened a criminal case under article 343 (extortion) of the Criminal Code of the Kyrgyz Republic.
The detainee was placed in the temporary detention center of the Main Internal Affairs Department of Bishkek for two months. Investigation is underway.
