Defense Ministry plans to introduce pre-conscription training in schools
Not all schools in Kyrgyzstan have pre-conscription training lessons for young people. Erlis Terdikbaev, Chief of the General Staff of the Ministry of Defense, announced at a parliamentary meeting.
According to him, the ministry, together with the Ministry of Education, is developing a project to introduce this subject in all schools.
«In the near future we will introduce the pre-conscription training lesson in all schools. The Ministry of Education is considering the issue of opening additional staff positions,» Erlis Terdikbaev said.
The head of the General Staff added that there is only one military department for students in Kyrgyzstan — on the basis of the Kyrgyz State Medical Academy.
«There is a proposal to reopen military departments in universities in order to increase the number of officers in the reserve,» he added.
