Imankulov discusses border situation with Deputy Head of Security Council of RF
Secretary of the Security Council of Kyrgyzstan, Marat Imankulov, met with the Deputy Secretary of the Security Council of the Russian Federation Oleg Khramov. Press service of the President of the Kyrgyz Republic reported.
The parties exchanged views on the issues of regional security, state and further strengthening of the Kyrgyz-Russian bilateral cooperation in the light of countering modern challenges and threats.
The current situation on the Kyrgyz-Tajik border and the prospects for its settlement were discussed.
In the context of Sadyr Japarov’s speech at the Russia-Central Asia summit, Marat Imankulov dwelled in detail on the issues of creating the most favorable conditions for the stay of citizens of the Kyrgyz Republic in Russia.
The need to improve the procedure for migration registration was voiced.
In addition, Marat Imankulov called for the assistance of the Russian side in eliminating the reasons that prevent the legalization of citizens of Kyrgyzstan and settlement of their legal status in the Russian Federation. The concern of the Kyrgyz side about possible restrictions on the validity of international and national driving licenses in Russia was also voiced.
Proposals were made to develop a mechanism for timely, independent and remote verification by citizens of Kyrgyzstan of their possible presence in the lists of persons who are prohibited from entering the territory of Russia.
Wishes of the Kyrgyz side for some easing of the conditions for expulsion from the territory of Russia were voiced.
Marat Imankulov noted that Kyrgyzstan was ready to continue working towards the implementation of previously reached agreements both in the bilateral format of Kyrgyz-Russian relations and on the platforms of international integration associations.
