A number of documents were signed at a meeting of the Council of Heads of State of the Commonwealth of Independent States (CIS) in Astana. Press service of the President of Kyrgyzstan reported.

As reported, they are aimed at further development and strengthening of integration ties in the trade, economic, cultural and humanitarian spheres, as well as in the field of security.

The following documents have been signed:

• On the chairmanship of the Commonwealth of Independent States in 2023 (on holding the next meeting of the Council of CIS Heads of State in Bishkek);
• On Chairman of the Executive Committee — the Executive Secretary of the CIS;
• On holding a regular meeting of the Council of Heads of State of the Commonwealth of Independent States;
• On the role of the Interparliamentary Assembly of the CIS states in the development of the Commonwealth;
• On the international organization for the support and promotion of the Russian language, created under the auspices of the Commonwealth of Independent States;
• On the announcement of 2024 the Year of the Volunteer Movement, 2025 — the Year of the 80^th Anniversary of Victory in the Great Patriotic War — the Year of Peace and Unity in the Fight against Nazism, 2026 — the Year of Health Protection;
• On agreement on the formation of an advisory council of heads of electoral bodies of the CIS states;
• On an agreement on cooperation between the CIS states in combating corruption;
• On the program of cooperation between the CIS states in the fight against terrorism and extremism for 2023–2025;
• On preparation of a draft agreement on free trade in services, establishment, operation and investment;
• On the announcement of the city of St. Petersburg the cultural capital of the Commonwealth in 2024;
• On granting the CIS observer status at the Collective Security Treaty Organization;
• On the Human Rights Commission of the Commonwealth of Independent States;
• On awarding the diploma of the Commonwealth of Independent States;
• On the statement of the CIS Heads of State on the development of cooperation in the field of culture;
• On the statement of the CIS Heads of State on cooperation in the climate sphere.
