17 foreigners apply for asylum in Kyrgyzstan since beginning of 2022
Since the beginning of the year, 17 foreigners have applied for asylum in Kyrgyzstan. Representative of the State Committee for National Security, Kanzhar Bakaev, announced at a meeting of the Parliament.
According to him, 13 refugees arrived from Afghanistan, 1 — from Tajikistan, 2 — from Turkey, and 1 — from Turkmenistan.
«In connection with the situation in Afghanistan and Pakistan, we have worked out all possible options. We are ready for all threats,» he said.
According to the Minister of Labour, Social Security and Migration Kudaibergen Bazarbaev, there are 794 refugees in Kyrgyzstan. Most of them are from Afghanistan.
