Kyrgyzstan to start testing for compatibility of donor organs

Kyrgyzstan will start testing for the compatibility of donor organs. The Deputy Minister of Health, Ulan Sadykov, told at a press conference.

He noted that kidney transplantation operations are being carried out in the country, but there are problems with conducting a compatibility test.

«Our patients used to travel to Kazakhstan, Turkey, paid quite a lot of money for the so-called HLA typing. This is a test of organs and tissues for compatibility during transplantation, so that the donor does not later have an organ rejection. The Cabinet of Ministers allocated funds for the purchase of laboratory equipment, procurement procedures are already underway, and we expect delivery in November-December. The full cycle of preparation for the operation will be carried out in Kyrgyzstan,» he said.

Ulan Sadykov added that the State Antimonopoly Agency, together with other departments, set the cost of the transplant operation. «Uncomplicated forms of transplants will cost $7,100. This is the lowest price in Central Asia to date,» he added.

The press center of the Ministry of Health clarified that 21 million soms were allocated for the purchase of the equipment.
