Internationally wanted citizen of Korea detained in Kyrgyzstan
The National Central Bureau of Interpol in Kyrgyzstan detained a citizen of Korea, who was on the international wanted list. Press service of the Ministry of Internal Affairs reported.
«The internationally wanted person was detained — 54-year-old citizen of the Republic of Korea D.G. The initiator of the search is the National Central Bureau of Interpol in Seoul. The defendant was wanted by the police of the city of Daegu for fraud on an especially large scale. Under the pretext of investing in the construction industry of Kyrgyzstan, he received a large amount of money — more than $450,000 — and disappeared,» the statement says.
Under the laws of Korea, this crime is punishable by imprisonment for more than 9 years.
The wanted person was handed over to the investigation authorities for a decision in accordance with the legislation of Kyrgyzstan.
