Kyrgyzstan intends to produce own cars, waiting for investments from Korea
The Minister of Economy and Commerce of the Kyrgyz Republic Daniyar Amangeldiev met with the Vice Minister of Trade, Industry and Energy of Korea Jang Dae Jin. Press service of the ministry reported.
Daniyar Amangeldiev noted that the republic pays much attention to the creation of assembly plants and localization of foreign enterprises using domestic materials in the production and technological process. He said that investments were needed for the formation of the automobile industry of the republic. This will serve as the basis for its revival and production of import-substituting products.
The Minister of Economy expressed interest in attracting Korean investments in the economy of the republic.
He assured that the government is carrying out and will continue to work to improve the investment climate. The minister proposed a number of areas of cooperation in the industrial sector, including the joint assembly for the production of medical equipment, charging cables and devices for electric vehicles, implementation of green projects through Kyrgyzindustriya OJSC, supply and assembly of electric vehicles and light commercial trucks.
Daniyar Amangeldiev also suggested considering the possibility of implementation of a project to create a Kyrgyz-Korean center for cooperation on digital technologies in textile production.
The Korean side noted the successful course of cooperation in the field of light industry and proposed to develop cooperation within the framework of free economic zones.
«The parties noted the importance of discussion of topical issues of bilateral cooperation, and also expressed confidence that the Kyrgyz-Korean relations would further develop fruitfully,» the statement says.
