Seven more schools planned to be built in residential areas of Bishkek
Seven more schools are planned to be built in residential areas of Bishkek. The Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers of Kyrgyzstan Akylbek Japarov said at the opening ceremony of an additional building of the educational complex of school-gymnasium No. 20 in the capital.
According to him, the building is designed for 500 students. The construction cost 347 million soms, another 13.2 million were spent on technical equipment.
Akylbek Japarov added that the shortage and workload of the city’s schools is one of the most acute problems, so the president set the task for the Cabinet of Ministers and the Bishkek City Hall to solve it.
«Five new schools have been built in residential areas, additional buildings have been built in other educational institutions that are not inferior to new schools. We had two dilapidated schools — No. 75 and 76, now they are already functioning like new ones. In 1950-1959, 11 schools were built in Frunze. It was a period of industrialization, we associated these times with Iskhak Razzakov. In the 1960-1969s, 31 educational institutions were built, these are the times of Turdakun Usubaliev.
In 2022, we built 15 schools and 1 kindergarten in Bishkek within five months. I think someday our children will associate these times with Sadyr Japarov.

We remember the times when not a single school was built in the city, such as in 2011, 2013, 2014, 2016, 2019 and 2020. It was the peak of the democratic explosion, the largest internal migration, and not a single school was built. We still have seven more schools to build in residential areas, and we will do it in the coming years,» he said.
The head of the Cabinet also stressed that the practice will no longer be repeated when individuals, wishing to win votes before the elections, lobbied for the construction of educational institutions in certain places.
«Location of the schools will be determined by the Ministry of Education and Science. We ask teachers to ensure the quality of education so that our children to become competitive, speak more than four languages, including the state, official, English, Chinese ones and programming language. We are expecting the birth of the seven millionth citizen. Therefore, every year it is necessary to build new schools to create good conditions for children to receive an education. They have a bright future ahead of them. They will live in a developed country,» he concluded.
