Three billion soms provided for restoration of Batken and Osh regions
Three million soms are provided from the state budget to implement the decree of the President on priority measures for the restoration and development of administrative-territorial units of Batken and Osh regions. The Ministry of Finance of Kyrgyzstan reported.
It is noted that the funds were found thanks to the redistribution of expenses of the republican budget for 2022. Funds are allocated according to the applications of state bodies, drawn up in accordance with the decision of the State Commission for the restoration and development of administrative-territorial units damaged and destroyed as a result of the armed conflict in Batken and Osh regions.
«The money will be directed to the repair, restoration and construction of military and civilian infrastructure, including the construction and overhaul of social facilities, irrigation facilities, providing the population with clean drinking water, housing construction, as well as the reconstruction of roads in Batken region,» the Ministry of Finance said.
Emergency situation has been introduced in Batken region. Shooting began at several sites of the border between Kyrgyzstan and Tajikistan on the morning of September 16. Settlements in Leilek and Batken district came under fire. The Ministry of Health reported 198 victims, 62 people were killed. As a result of the armed conflict on the Kyrgyz-Tajik border, residents of seven villages in Batken and Leilek districts, as well as Dzhekendi village in Chon-Alai district of Osh region, left their homes.
The Prosecutor General’s Office of Kyrgyzstan opened a criminal case on crimes against peace.
