SCO and EAEU plan to cooperate in financial, trade and energy sectors
The member countries of the Eurasian Economic Union (EAEU) and the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) plan to cooperate in a number of areas. Gohar Barseghyan, Director of the EEC Integration Development Department, announced at the online conference «Deepening Cooperation between EAEU and SCO».
She recalled that the EEC and the SCO Secretariat signed a memorandum of understanding a year ago.
«The focus of the document is economic cooperation with an emphasis on the following areas: finance, trade policy, trade facilitation, transport, digitalization, sanitary and phytosanitary measures, energy, industrial and agro-industrial cooperation. We expect that the plan will be agreed and signed by the end of the year,» the EEC representative said.
An agreement on cooperation was signed earlier in Samarkand (Uzbekistan) on the construction of China — Kyrgyzstan — Uzbekistan railway on the territory of the Kyrgyz Republic.
