Part of victims to be transported from Batken to Bishkek by special aircraft
As of 4 p.m. on September 17, the number of victims admitted to healthcare organizations of Kyrgyzstan reached 122 people. At least 7 of them were sent for outpatient treatment. The Ministry of Health reported.
There are 41 victims in the Batken Regional Combined Hospital, 35 — in the General Medical Practice Centers of Leilek, 3 — in Kulundu, and 6 — in Sulukta. At least 21 victims are in the National Hospital, 1 — in the National Surgical Center, 7 — in the National Mother and Child Welfare Center in Bishkek and 1 one — in the Osh Regional Combined Hospital.
«Some of the victims are being delivered by special aircraft from Batken to healthcare organizations in Bishkek. Additional information will be provided later,» the Ministry of Health informed.
Emergency situation has been introduced in Batken region. Shooting began at several sites of the border between Kyrgyzstan and Tajikistan on the morning of September 16. Settlements in Leilek and Batken district came under fire. The Ministry of Health reported 122 victims, 24 people were killed. As a result of the armed conflict on the Kyrgyz-Tajik border, residents of seven villages in Batken and Leilek districts, as well as Dzhekendi village in Chon-Alai district of Osh region, left their homes.
Presidents Sadyr Japarov and Emomali Rahmon agreed to ceasefire. But, according to the latest data from the Border Service of the State Committee for National Security of Kyrgyzstan, the Tajik side violated the agreements again.
