Agriculture Minister tells about products intended for export this year
Kyrgyzstan has lifted restrictions on the export of barley, corn, potatoes and cotton. The Minister of Agriculture of Kyrgyzstan Askarbek Dzhanybekov announced at a meeting of the Committee on Agrarian Policy, Water Resources, Ecology and Regional Development of Parliament.
According to him, 110,000 hectares of land were sown with corn this year. This is twice the needs of the population.
«This year there are agreements on the export of agricultural products to private companies in Tajikistan and Uzbekistan. In addition, this year Kazakhstan intends to buy 15,000 tons of potatoes. Negotiations are underway with Uzbekistan. Business representatives should come from the country,» Askarbek Dzhanybekov said.
