Criminal case initiated against resort for draining wastewater into Issyk-Kul
A criminal case has been initiated against one of the resorts in Issyk-Kul region. Press service of the Prosecutor General’s Office reported.
«A check was carried out on the social media post under the heading «Sewerage of the resort is discharged into Issyk-Kul lake». It was found out that the treatment facilities of the resort do not comply with the requirements of environmental, sanitary norms and rules, which is a violation of environmental protection,» the statement says.
Based on the results of the inspection, the district prosecutor’s office initiated a criminal case under article 298 (Violation of the rules for environmental protection in the course of work) of the Criminal Code of the Kyrgyz Republic. The Department of Internal Affairs of Issyk-Kul region is conducting an investigation.
