Employees of Sezim crisis center appealed to the President of the Kyrgyz Republic Sadyr Japarov.

In their appeal, they write that they have read the commentary of the head of state on the murder of a minor girl in Kadamdzhai district.

«We learned that you took the case under your personal control. In this regard, we ask you to take 18 cases of sexual crimes that are being handled by Sezim crisis center under your personal control. The fates of these crimes are as tragic as the fate of the Kadamdzhai underage girl,» the appeal says.

Of the 18 cases involving sexual crimes, 9 are crimes against minors. The age of the victims ranges from 5 to 78 years.

«Proceedings of these crimes dragged on from two to ten years, the victims went from court to court, the criminals are not punished,» the human rights activists say.

They emphasize that because of impunity, crimes are repeated. Criminals must be justly punished within each case.

«We hope that decisive measures will be taken in relation to this serious problem, which discredits Kyrgyzstan as a country that has signed international agreements to combat discrimination and eradicate violence against women and girls, both before the world community and before our people,» representatives of Sezim concluded.

Three men are suspected of raping and murdering a schoolgirl in Kadamdzhai district. Her body was found in a tunnel near Noogardan village, local residents reported the incident to the police. Traces of violent death were found on the girl’s body — she was strangled, her hands were tied. The president took the case under control.
