Two Russian climbers die on Lenin Peak
Climbers from Russia died on Lenin Peak. The Department of Internal Affairs of Osh region informed 24.kg news agency.
On August 28, the police received information about the death of 38-year-old and 41-year-old citizens of the Russian Federation at an altitude of 6,100 meters in the Pamir mountain system.
The fact was registered, an investigation is underway.
According to preliminary data, the climbers died from the cold. Work is underway to take the bodies down.
Lenin Peak is located on the border of Kyrgyzstan and Tajikistan in the Pamir mountain system and is one of the highest peaks in Central Asia (7,134 meters).
