Chairman of Cabinet of Ministers promises strict control over work of Kumtor
Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers of Kyrgyzstan Akylbek Japarov and Deputy Head of the Cabinet of Ministers Kamchybek Tashiev visited Kumtor mine. Press service of the Government reported.
Akylbek Japarov held a meeting and introduced Almaz Baryktabasov, the newly appointed President of Kumtor Gold Company CJSC, to the management of the gold mining enterprise. He noted that Bolotbek Idirisov has been appointed a Chairman of the Board of the company.
«Kumtor must work for the people of Kyrgyzstan. We demand efficient and rational management from the company’s management. Not a single crumb of bread should lie on the floor. Kumtor is the wealth of the people, and it should only benefit the people. Control over activities will be strict. There should not be any manifestations of corruption. The mine should not stop working even for a second. There shouldn’t be any mistakes. Submit work plans to the Cabinet by Monday. It is necessary to fulfill the designated plan for the extraction of 17.5 tons of gold,» Akylbek Japarov said.
It became known about financial violations revealed at Kumtor, in particular, fuels and lubricants, food, spare parts were purchased at prices above market ones. Tengiz Bolturuk, who previously headed Kumtor, and financial director Ryspek Toktogulov were removed from their posts.
