SCNS calls for voluntary surrender of illegally stored weapons and ammunition
The State Committee for National Security of Kyrgyzstan (SCNS) reminded about criminal liability for illegal trafficking of weapons and ammunition. Article 267 of the Criminal Code of the Kyrgyz Republic provides for punishment in the form of imprisonment for up to 10 years.
"The legislation exempts from criminal liability the persons who voluntarily surrender weapons and ammunition illegally kept by them. The SCNS pays special attention to this aspect of work as one of the threats to national security and calls on citizens to voluntarily hand over illegally stored weapons and ammunition.
Earlier, the SCNS detained one of the co-owners of Umut and Co LLC, Dzhurat Abdullaev, for illegal possession of firearms and explosive devices.
