President of Kyrgyzstan reprimands Minister of Defense
The President of Kyrgyzstan signed a decree according to which, in accordance with Article 71 of the Constitution and the disciplinary charter of the Armed Forces of the Kyrgyz Republic, Defense Minister Baktybek Bekbolotov was severely reprimanded for improper performance of assigned duties.
Several incidents with the death of servicemen have occurred in the last month alone.
A conscript soldier shot himself dead at the Military Institute. Another conscript soldier Eldiyar Zhailoobekov shot himself on July 4. A video has been posted where one military man beats and kicks another in an improvised ring. Officials called it an exam.
Sadyr Japarov also announced disciplinary sanctions against a number of officials.
