China develops anti-COVID pills
The first pills for treatment of coronavirus were developed in China. Kazinform reports, citing Fosun Pharmaceutical Group.
The drug Azvudine is on sale in the province of Hainan and the Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region (XUAR) of China, where large outbreaks of coronavirus were registered.
Fosun Pharmaceutical Group noted that the drug is used in the treatment of adult patients with mild forms of COVID-19.
The drug was approved by the country’s State Food and Drug Administration at the end of July 2022.
The National Health Commission of the People’s Republic of China last week included this drug in the latest protocol for the diagnosis and treatment of coronavirus infection.
