Mercer: Bishkek and Dushanbe - cheapest cities for foreigners to live
Bishkek and Dushanbe have become the cheapest cities to live in. Mercer’s Cost of Living Survey says.
The capitals of Kyrgyzstan and Tajikistan take the first and third lines, respectively.
Ankara, Bishkek and Dushanbe are the top 3 cheapest cities for foreigners to live in. The top 10 includes Algeria, Tunisia, Istanbul, Karachi, Islamabad, Almaty and Tashkent.
Hong Kong is the most expensive city for foreigners to live. The top 10 most expensive cities are Tel Aviv, New York, Singapore, Tokyo, Beijing, Zurich, Geneva, Basel and Bern.
The ranking was compiled based on a survey among foreign specialists working in big cities around the world.
The prices of goods and services, including the cost of rent of housing, public transport, food, clothing and entertainment were taken into account in the survey.
