Volume of deposits in banks of Kyrgyzstan reaches 129.9 billion soms in June
In June 2022, the volume of newly accepted (new) deposits in the banks of Kyrgyzstan amounted to 129.9 billion soms. The National Bank provided such data.
The vast majority of deposits accepted in June are on-demand deposits or current accounts of individuals and legal entities. The National Bank believes that one of the main reasons for the growth of deposits is the recovery of economic activity.
Thus, GDP growth in January-July reached 7.7 percent compared to 2021. All the main sectors of the economy are growing: industry, agriculture, construction, services, including increase in demand for tourism services.
«Another factor is the maintenance of tight monetary conditions, allowing commercial banks to actively attract deposits. It is necessary to mention the efforts of the Cabinet of Ministers to bring the economy out of the shadows, contributing to the development of non-cash turnover and, accordingly, the growth of working capital of entrepreneurs on current accounts and on-demand deposits. The continued confidence of the population in the banking sector also has an impact,» the National Bank of the Kyrgyz Republic told 24.kg news agency.
