Kyrgyzstan imports tomatoes from Turkmenistan for $6.6 million for 5 months
The imports of tomatoes from Turkmenistan in January-May is estimated at $6.6 million. The National Statistical Committee of Kyrgyzstan provided such data.
The cost of imported goods has not changed much in dollar terms. But the volume of imports increased 1.8 times — from 6,400 to 11,400 tons. To date, Turkmenistan is the largest supplier of tomatoes to Kyrgyzstan.
Uzbekistan takes the second place. At least 3,900 tons of tomatoes worth $1.8 million were imported from the neighboring republic. Compared to last year, the volume of imports increased by 441.5 tons.
The total volume of imports of goods from Turkmenistan for five months of 2022 is estimated at $41.1 million. In addition to tomatoes, Kyrgyzstan imports from this country cabbage, other vegetables, confectionery, chocolate, pastries, petroleum products (gasoline), nitrogen fertilizers, plastic products and other goods.
