37 children die in road accidents in Kyrgyzstan for 6 months of 2022
At least 37 children have died in traffic accidents and 929 were injured in Kyrgyzstan in the first half of 2022. The National Statistical Committee reported.
In total, from January to June, 802 road accidents involving children were registered across the country. The figure remained almost unchanged compared to last year.
The total number of traffic accidents registered in the first half of the year reached 3,000, which is 11 percent less than a year earlier. Bishkek accounts for the largest share of the traffic accidents (44 percent), as well as Chui (about 20 percent) and Osh (about 9 percent) regions.
The number of injured reached 4,629 people, and there were 248 deaths. There is a decrease in both indicators: fatal road accidents decreased by 24.6 percent and the number of injured decreased by 8.7 percent.
Number of road accidents involving drunk drivers also decreased by 7.5 percent. They caused 185 traffic accidents.
