331 markets and shopping centers operate in Kyrgyzstan
There are 331 markets and shopping centers in Kyrgyzstan. The National Statistical Committee provided such data in the bulletin «Activities of the markets of the Kyrgyz Republic».
In total, there are 271 markets in the country, 35 of which are food markets, 64 — clothes markets, 186- mixed markets, 36 — markets for the sale of livestock, poultry and grain fodder, and 10 — car markets.
There are 60 shopping centers in Kyrgyzstan. More than half — 31 — are in Bishkek. Jalal-Abad region takes the 2nd place with 8 shopping centers, Chui region — the 3rd (6). There are five shopping centers in Osh city, and one in Osh region.
According to the National Statistical Committee, there is not a single shopping center in Talas region.
Osh region has the largest number of markets — 80, which is followed by Bishkek (66) and Jalal-Abad region (62). Issyk-Kul region has only 11 markets.
