Arab investors to allocate $100 million for development of education sector
Members of the Arab Coordination Group (ACG) will allocate $100 million for the development of the education sector in Kyrgyzstan. Press service of the Ministry of Education and Science reported.
An agreement was reached at the 4th meeting of the Arab Coordination Group, members of which will take part in the implementation of the National Development Program of the Kyrgyz Republic for 2022-2026, in particular in the development of education.
According to the head of the ministry, Almazbek Beishenaliev, in accordance with the agreements reached, the Kyrgyz Republic has the right to receive a grant of $15 million and a loan of $85 million.
«It is planned that the grant will be aimed at improving the quality of education and provision with textbooks. Half of the loan from the Islamic Development Bank, the Abu Dhabi Fund for Development and other members of the ACG will be used to build kindergartens, the other half — to build schools. This will make it possible to cover another 45,000 children with preschool education, and other 45,000 children will be able to go to new schools, and 3,000 educators and teachers will be provided with jobs,» the ministry said.
Earlier it was reported that to solve the problem with the lack of schools and kindergartens in Kyrgyzstan, the Arab Coordination Group was asked for $60 million.
