Ministry of Education of Kyrgyzstan asks Arab investors for $60 million
To solve the problem of the lack of schools and kindergartens in Kyrgyzstan, the Arab Coordination Group was asked for $60 million. The Minister of Education and Science Almazbek Beishenaliev told following a meeting of the Cabinet of Ministers with investors.
According to him, 245 schools in the republic are in disrepair. Children study in three shifts at 126 educational institutions. Only 22 percent of preschool children go to kindergartens.
«To solve the problems, we are negotiating with the Arab Coordination Group the possibility of taking grants and loans,» Almazbek Beishenaliev said.
At the expanse of this money, it is planned to upgrade the buildings of educational institutions and begin construction of new ones.
«This will increase the coverage by school education by 45,000 children, preschool — by the same number, as well as employ about 3,000 teachers,» the minister added.
