Birth and infant mortality rates decrease in Kyrgyzstan
Infant mortality decreased by 7.5 percent in Kyrgyzstan. The Acting Minister of Health Zharkynbek Kasymbekov told at a press conference.
According to him, the infant mortality rate was 16 cases per 100,000 live births last year, and according to the results of the first half of 2022 — 14.8 cases per 100,000.
At the same time, as Zharkynbek Kasymbekov noted, a decrease in the birth rate by 5.4 percent is registered in the republic in 2022. Against this background, there is also a 48 percent reduction in maternal mortality.
