Electoral legislation of Kyrgyzstan to be amended
An interdepartmental working group has been formed at the Central Commission for Elections and Referenda of the Kyrgyz republic (CEC), which will improve the electoral legislation. The CEC reported.
The composition of the working group was approved, it includes deputies of the Parliament, members of the CEC, judges, representatives of the Prosecutor General’s Office, the Ministry of Internal Affairs, the Ministry of Justice, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, civil society and experts.
«Taking into account that the next electoral cycle will begin in 2025 with mass local elections, in 2026 — with next parliamentary elections, and in 2027 — with presidential elections, it is very important to take measures to improve legislation in the inter-election period,» the CEC noted.
According to the CEC, the working group will analyze the current legislation and develop recommendations for its improvement.
