Head of Cabinet of Ministers names objects that may be transferred to China
Kyrgyzstan has to pay not less than $400 million from 2023 to 2028. The Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers Akylbek Japarov said at a meeting of the Parliament.
According to him, 50 percent of the external debt are loans from the Export-Import Bank of China (Eximbank).
«In five years, we have to find a way to pay off this money. I’m not going to scare you, but the Bishkek Heating and Power Plant, Datka-Kemin transmission line, the alternative North-South road may be transferred to other people. In particular, Eximbank may appoint its manager. There have already been such precedents in Pakistan and Sri Lanka. Therefore, we must get rid of this rope around our necks,» Akylbek Japarov said.
