Akylbek Japarov discusses One Village One Product with Ambassador of Japan
Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers of Kyrgyzstan Akylbek Japarov received the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Japan to Kyrgyzstan Maeda Shigeki. Press service of the Cabinet reported.
The parties discussed issues of bilateral cooperation, including in the field of processing products of mining enterprises, mechanical engineering, environmental safety and IT technologies.
Akylbek Japarov noted that Kyrgyzstan is interested in attracting the largest Japanese companies to the domestic market.
«Our country has a great transit potential, because we border on 1.5 billion China and 40 million Uzbekistan. This is a big market. We are ready to launch a franchise, buy the rights to developments in order to bring Japanese technology to the country,» he said.
The parties also discussed One Village, One Product Project that is being implemented by the Government of Japan. Akylbek Japarov proposed to expand and implement it at the state level.
In turn, Maeda Shigeki supported the intentions of the Cabinet of Ministers on this project, noting that it has been successfully implemented in Japan for 42 years. He also praised the efforts and reforms carried out by the President and the Cabinet, and noted that the Embassy was ready to assist in their implementation.
