Another rally against legalization of casinos held in Bishkek
Another protest against legalization of casinos in Kyrgyzstan was held in Maxim Gorky park in Bishkek.
About 20 activists held a banner, saying: «Kyrgyzstan is against casinos» and called on the authorities to repeal the previously adopted law. They believe that the legalization of gambling activities will negatively affect the social status of citizens.
The participants recalled that this activity was banned in the republic due to the fact that gambling addicts lost all their property, got into debts and often committed suicide.
Consideration of the draft law legalizing gambling activities caused a lot of controversy in society. Opponents of its adoption held a series of protests in Bishkek and regions.
Disputes also arose within the Parliament: the law on gambling activities has been passed on the fifth attempt only.
