Anyone to be able to visit Kumtor mine for about $500
Tourist trips will be organized to Kumtor gold mine. Elena Kalashnikova, president of the Tourism Development Support Fund in Kyrgyzstan, told at a press conference.
«An agreement was signed today with Heritage of Great Nomads Holding Company. Everyone will be able to go to the mine and see what is really happening there. This is industrial tourism. I would like to say that trips to Baikonur, a strategic facility, are very popular in Kazakhstan. Why do the Kazakhs allow in, but we can’t?» Kalashnikova said.
A one-day trip will cost about $500.
Tourism Development Support Fund in Kyrgyzstan was established by order of the Cabinet of Ministers in order to create the most favorable conditions for development of the tourism business. The authorized capital of the fund is 1 billion soms.
