Depreciation of dollar: National Bank buys over $85 million in June
The National Bank of Kyrgyzstan has bought $85,140 million in the foreign exchange market since the beginning of June. Official website of the bank says.
A sharp depreciation of the American currency forced the National Bank of the Kyrgyz Republic to buy the record amounts of foreign currency. At least $33.7 million was purchased on June 10, and on June 17 — $51,440 million.
Since the beginning of the year, the National Bank has conducted six interventions and bought $131,590 million on the market.
The intervention had no impact on the market yet. Commercial banks and exchange offices of the capital buy the dollar for 79.5-81 soms, and sell for 80-81.5 soms. Its official exchange rate is 79.5011 soms.
