Loans in dollars account for more than quarter of all loans in Kyrgyzstan
According to the results of the first quarter of 2022, the loan portfolio in foreign currency continued to decrease and reduced by 2.9 percent since the beginning of the year. The National Bank of Kyrgyzstan reported.
As a result, dollarization of the loan portfolio continued to reach historic lows and made up 27 percent in March. Since the beginning of the year, the indicator has decreased by 0.9 percent.
«Over the first quarter of this year, the loan portfolio of commercial banks grew slightly due to an increase in loans in the national currency. At the same time, the rates of lending in the sectors of consumer loans, trade, mortgages and agriculture were above average. The volume of the loan portfolio in industry and construction has decreased,» the National Bank of the Kyrgyz Republic said.
