The Foreign Affairs Minister of Kyrgyzstan Jeenbek Kulubaev met with the Minister of State for External Affairs of India Meenakshi Lekhi.

According to the press service of the Foreign Ministry, Jeenbek Kulubaev stressed that the Kyrgyz-Indian relations are developing in a friendly and positive way. The parties are actively cooperating both in bilateral and multilateral formats and are implementing a number of joint projects.

The minister also noted that the President of the Kyrgyz Republic Sadyr Japarov and the Prime Minister of India Narendra Modi met in November 2021 on the sidelines of the UN Climate Change Conference in Glasgow and agreed to hold mutual visits at the highest level.

The head of the Foreign Ministry of the Kyrgyz Republic welcomed India’s desire to intensify cooperation with the countries of Central Asia, including within the framework of the India-Central Asia dialogue.

Meenakshi Lekhi highly appreciated the level of bilateral relations and expressed readiness of the Indian side to implement joint projects in Kyrgyzstan in various fields.

Particular attention was paid to mutual cooperation in the fields of investment, medicine and tourism, as well as the implementation of grant assistance projects in the Kyrgyz Republic aimed at social development in trade, economic, scientific, technical, cultural and humanitarian fields.

The parties agreed to continue the course towards strengthening and developing Kyrgyz-Indian relations in all areas of bilateral partnership, including through visits at the highest and high levels.

Jeenbek Kulubaev welcomed the intention of the Indian side to open a yoga institute in Kyrgyzstan and congratulated the guest on the upcoming International Day of Yoga, which is celebrated annually on June 21.
