Kazakhstan's State Revenue Committee works at border contrary to EAEU norms
Employees of the State Revenue Committee of Kazakhstan are working at Kordai and Karasuu checkpoints contrary to the basic principles and norms of the Treaty on the Eurasian Economic Union (EAEU). The Ministry of Economy and Commerce of Kyrgyzstan reported.
The fact was revealed during a study visit of the state bodies of the Kyrgyz Republic to the checkpoints located on the Kyrgyz-Kazakh border together with representatives of the Eurasian Economic Commission, headed by a Member of the Board (Minister) in charge of Customs Cooperation Maksat Mamytkanov, as well as representatives of state bodies of the EAEU countries.
It has been proven that the State Revenue Committee of Kazakhstan takes tax measures in relation to all freight vehicles.
Employees of the Border Service of the Republic of Kazakhstan noted that 22,369 trucks passed through Karasuu checkpoint in May 2022. On average, one truck passes through the checkpoint every 5 minutes.
«But further, according to the Border Service of the Republic of Kazakhstan and the official statement of the State Revenue Committee of the Republic of Kazakhstan, the time of passage of one cargo vehicle through Karasuu checkpoint is about 15-20 minutes. About 22,880 vehicles were supposed to pass in May. These discrepancies provided by the Kazakh side were recognized as erroneous. The delegation noted that the data provided by the Kazakh side were incorrect and questionable. Moreover, they are considered as falsification to discredit Kyrgyz exporters,» the statement says.
The Ministry of Economy noted that the members of the delegation saw for themselves that the Kyrgyz side complies with all the norms of the Treaty on the EAEU. Participants of the meeting called on the Kazakh side to comply with the norms and provisions of the Treaty on the Union and take comprehensive measures to remove the barrier.
