Security forces of Kyrgyzstan to be selected for UN peacekeeping missions
At least 87 employees of the Interior Ministry and the Penitentiary Service expressed their desire to pass a selection exam for UN peacekeeping missions. Press service of the law enforcement agency reported.
Applicants will have to pass a test for knowledge of the English language, driving skills in vehicles with a manual transmission, and demonstrate the ability to use firearms.
Nurbek Zhangabylov, head of the International Cooperation Department of the Ministry of Internal Affairs, assured at a meeting with the selection and recruitment officer of the UN Department of Peacekeeping Operations Ousmane Alou, that the exam would be held openly, objectively, and corruption factors would be excluded.
Issues of creation a training center for candidates for UN peacekeeping missions in Bishkek and further strengthening cooperation in the field of law enforcement were also discussed.
Military personnel and medical workers of the Kyrgyz Republic are sent to UN peacekeeping missions for six months.
