Government agencies not comply with 5 percent quota for people with disabilities
Government agencies do not comply with the five percent quota for people with disabilities. Ombudsman of Kyrgyzstan Atyr Abdrakhmatova announced at a meeting of Parliament.
According to her, the systematic problems of people with disabilities remain unresolved.
«The infrastructure is insufficient, people with disabilities do not have access to public transport. After the age of 18, people with disabilities do not have a personal assistant. When they become adult, they do not begin to walk, run, so they need care for life. There is information that this issue is being resolved by the President. Five percent of the total number of jobs should be allocated for people with disabilities in all companies, regardless of the form of ownership, as well as in government agencies. This requirement is not met even in state bodies,» Atyr Abdrakhmatova said.
The Parliament hears a report on the activities of the Ombudsman’s Institute for 2019, 2020 and 2021.
