Preliminary date of Kurman Ait announced
Kurman Ait will be celebrated on July 9 or July 10 this year. Press service of the Spiritual Directorate of the Muslims of Kyrgyzstan (SDMK) reported.
The muftiyat will announce the exact date of the holiday later.
Kurman Ait is one of the sacred holidays of the Muslims, which unites people and allows them to realize themselves as an integrated whole. It symbolizes fidelity to duty, wisdom, tolerance, readiness for self-sacrifice for the sake of high ideals.
The Muslims are required to perform the rite of sacrifice on this day.
