Akylbek Japarov: If window to Europe closes, we are ready to open gate to Asia
«If the window to Europe closes, we are ready to open the gate to Asia,» said the Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers of Kyrgyzstan Akylbek Japarov, speaking at the opening of the 1st Eurasian Economic Forum in Bishkek.
He recalled that back in 2001 he spoke about the need to switch to national currencies in mutual payments. The head of the Cabinet of Ministers of the Kyrgyz Republic is sure that the recent events have critically exposed the unique opportunities for the transition to an economy, where nanotechnologies and new energy, new information technologies and human resources will be at the forefront.
«There is a civilizational shift from West to East, the economic center of gravity is shifting to the Asian continent. We are witnessing an unprecedented change, in which our union must take its dominant position. In the context of globalization and persistence of crisis phenomena in the world economic system, as well as its turbulence, integration processes are becoming more relevant and important than ever. United by joint actions, common interests and tasks, the states move more successfully in the global economy, gaining real competitive advantages,» Akylbek Japarov said.
According to him, the mutual benefit of the Union is obvious for the member countries.
«We have huge potential for further integration. Union programs are one of the main instruments of integration. They are effectively developing it, which will make it possible to load production capacities, organize additional jobs, and also increase export deliveries to many countries of the world,» he concluded.
