Criminal proceedings against Kaktus.media terminated
Criminal proceedings against Kaktus.media have been terminated. The Prosecutor General’s Office informed 24.kg news agency.
The case was closed on March 31 due to the absence of crime in the act.
A rally was held near the office of Kaktus.media on January 28. The protesters demanded to shut down the media outlet, because the journalists published information — a reprint from the Tajik Asia Plus website — about the conflict on the Kyrgyz-Tajik border. Later, the Prosecutor General’s Office sent out information that a criminal case had been opened on the material about the armed conflict in the border zone. Media workers were summoned for interrogations to the prosecutor’s office of Bishkek.
