Migrants transfer $518.07 million to Kyrgyzstan in first quarter of 2022
In March 2022 migrants transferred $153.4 million to Kyrgyzstan, which is $34.2 million less than a month before. The National Bank provided such data.
In January — March in total the migrants transferred $518.07 million to the country. This is $12.5 million less than in 2021. More than 97 percent of remittances come from Russia — $493.69 million. At least $9.03 million were transferred from other states and $12.75 million — from the United States to Kyrgyzstan.
According to the results of March, there was also an outflow of funds — $35.4 million. The main part of the money was transferred to Russia — $33.6 million. The outflow is estimated at $110.81 million for 3 months.
Net inflow of remittances to Kyrgyzstan in January — March amounted to $407.26 million.
The volume of remittances to the republic amounted to $2,756.24 billion last year. At least $562.77 million were transferred from the Kyrgyz Republic to other countries. Net inflow was $ 2,193.47 billion.
